How to Subscribe to the MLA International Bibliography
From 1926 to 2008, the MLA International Bibliography was published annually in print volumes. Since 2009, the bibliography has been available exclusively online. The online version contains all current entries as well as those published in the print version.
Two versions of the bibliography are available to libraries on the EBSCOhost platform through institutional subscription.
- The MLA International Bibliography is a citation-only database. Although the subscription does not include full text of publications, full text materials available in other EBSCO databases to which your library subscribes display directly in the product. The bibliography enables additional access to full text through links to materials in JSTOR and MUSE, links to open-access publications, and DOIs. It also supports link resolvers and interlibrary loan requests.
- The MLA International Bibliography with Full Text includes full text of more than 1,000 journals and series, in addition to the same links to full text available in the MLA International Bibliography. To find a list of the full-text titles included, please visit the EBSCO product page through the linked title above.
Both versions of the bibliography contain all current entries as well as those published in the earlier print version. All subscriptions also include access to the MLA Directory of Periodicals, which provides detailed information on over 25,000 journals and book series indexed in the MLA International Bibliography. The directory is a valuable resource for scholars seeking outlets to publish their work as well as for librarians working to identify periodical publications that best meet their institutions’ needs.
Both versions are also accessible through the EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS).
If you have questions about whether your institution subscribes, ask your reference librarian for assistance. Inquiries about subscribing can be submitted on the EBSCO product pages. (Select the linked database titles above.)
